Kelly & Doug's French Fairytale Château Wedding

Stunningly sensible.

Being a preferred Château Sentout wedding planner is certainly a privilege, and one I am very grateful to have.  Not only because Sentout is one of the most jaw-droppingly beautiful venues in Bordeaux, but because the couples that choose to get married here tend to be really awesome, down to earth people.
Kelly and Doug were absolutely no exception.  They are down to earth, organized, funny and great to look at! – A wedding planners dream! And OMG those dresses…..

Back to Blogging!!

Actually, maybe it’s not correct to say that I’m "back to blogging" when I never really started to begin with.  Always finding excuses to put off blog posts and this time it took 2 years – yes – that’s right, 2 whole years before figuring out my blog situation.  Isn’t that the life of a wedding planner though? We are always so wrapped up in our couples that actually doing something for ourselves gets pushed to the bottom of the list.

It’s time though to jump into 2018 (yes I am already there) and get publishing. Plus, I can only assume that everyone wants to see the FABULOUS weddings that I had the privilege of planning.  I think I owe it to my couples as well to showcase the incredible amount of work that they put into planning their special day.  We are a team in this planning process and they should be in the spotlight!
I’m not going to get ahead of myself and start promising a regular posting schedule – it is going to take time to redevelop these creative writing skills J

Until next time (which I promise will be sooner!)

Xx!

Real Weddings : Florie-Anne & Julien : August 2015 : Pure Expression Events

“Look at it this way, you will always remember that YOU got married on the wettest weekend of the summer!”
Those were my exact words to my beautiful bride the day after her wedding…
Florie-Anne & Julien live a 100 mile an hour lives in Paris and wanted to come back to Florie-Anne’s childhood home for their big day.
The couple was wed in a quaint church, filled to the brim, in the heart of the Bordeaux vineyard.  The reception followed à la maison – on the Bride’s family estate.  Over 200 happy and delighted guests, oblivious to the fact that it was pouring down rain, enjoyed a refined cocktail by one of the top caterers in Bordeaux.  The reception was held in the “Game Room” - that’s how it figured on the layout – completely transformed by the exquisite chandelier floral arrangements. This was one of my Couple-Parent weddings as I like to call them.  As the entire reception was held on the family property, I spent the majority of my time planning with the Bride’s parents.  This is common in French weddings and I am always struck by the level of commitment exhibited by parents - a real sign of love.
A truly enriching experience that only further convinces me that wedding planning is the best job on earth!!

REFLECTING ON 2014 – RESOLUTIONS….OOPS I MEAN GOALS FOR 2015

by NICOLE at PURE EXPRESSION EVENTS on JAN 15TH, 2015

As I sit here reflecting on 2014, I am beyond grateful for the amount of blessings experienced last year.  If I had to use one word to describe 2014 it would be GROWTH.  I grew immensely, both personally and professionally.  The very personal aspect came with a new addition to my family with the birth of my daughter in February.  Now I have two beautiful, very smiley children to turn to after good days and bad.  Professionally, I celebrated 6 AMAZING couples in 2014 planning and coordinating their weddings and networked with some amazing vendors in France and from the other side of the Atlantic!!!  It’s amazing how many memories, milestones and changes a year can hold and last year was no different.
Now by no means did the year go by without some bumps and flaws – weather, catering catastrophe, broken engagement, photo issues, etc. but as I watched my couples dance their first dance, I know how blessed I am to do this work.
