Touch of Taiwan: Real Wedding - Yvonne & Mathieu

Crazy laid back fun with a touch of French & Taiwanese traditions – that’s the vibe that Yvonne & Matthieu were hoping to achieve – and they nailed it!

They had the incredibly talented Brazilian videographer Giovanna Borgh to capture the entire day in her uniquely poetic style.  100% emotion guaranteed!   Click Here to watch the video

Like most of my couples, Yvonne & Matthieu had, not one, but TWO wedding celebrations – the first in Taiwan, which is where Yvonne is from and where the couple lives – and the second in France, Mathieu’s home, in a beautiful chateau perched amid the sunflower fields of Southwest France.

As a planner, I absolutely LOVE when couples come from very different cultural backgrounds.  I have time to observe human nature – how guests interact, how suppliers adapt and how even though cultures and customs are different, everyone unites in celebrating the special day.  Yvonne’s & Mathieu’s wedding was no exception.

The couple’s guests started the day by putting the finishing touches on the flowers, décor and stationary (DIY!) while those not assigned specific tasks enjoyed the pool.

The ceremony was filled with words from friends & family and some occasional teasing.

Guests then moved into the cocktail area for the traditional French cocktail experience – but that’s not all.  You guessed it, there were some very tasty Taiwanese treats for everyone to enjoy.  (Need to incorporate some comfort home food right!)

After the cocktail was finished, the couple went off for a wardrobe change (the 2nd of 3 s.v.p.)and portrait session, appearing for the dinner in full traditional Chinese dress.

Dinner perused into the evening with singing, speeches, jokes, drinking, laughing…an electrically positive atmosphere that continued on the dance floor until the early morning hours.
